Former ECHL Player Cote
Named Assistant Coach Of
AHL’s Adirondack Phantoms

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that left wing Riley Cote has retired as a player to become assistant coach of the Flyers American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren. Cote will join head coach Greg Gilbert and associate coach and former Trenton assistant coach Kjell Samuelsson on the Adirondack coaching staff.

Cote played for Dayton in his second professional season in 2003-04 and had 17 points (6g-11a) and 258 penalty minutes in 57 games with the Bombers while also playing in the American Hockey League with Syracuse where he had 19 penalty minutes in nine games.

He has played in the NHL each of the past four seasons and had seven points (1g-6a) and 387 penalty minutes in 141 regular season games while also playing in three Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Flyers.
