PRINCETON, N.J. – Former Texas Wildcatter and current Florida Panther center Kamil Kreps is the MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for February.
Selected in the second round (38th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2003 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Kreps had nine points (2g-7a) and a plus-minus rating of +5 as the Panthers went 6-6-3 in February. In his second season in the NHL, he has career highs with six goals, 15 assists, 21 points, 19 penalty minutes and 65 games.
The 23 year old had an assist at Ottawa on Feb. 7 for his first career three-game assist streak (3a) during which the Panthers were 2-1-0. He scored his first career game-winning goal and had his first multiple-point game (1g-1a) in a 4-2 win against Washington on Feb. 15. He had his second multiple-point game with a goal and an assist in a 5-4 shootout loss to Boston on Feb. 21.
