The Komets are the ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League and the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.
Barteaux, 26, completed five seasons of collegiate play last season with the University of Alberta. The Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta native capped his five-year college career winning the CIS National Championship before making his pro debut skating four games with the Bakersfield Condors. In 2008-09, Barteaux finished his fifth season in juniors with the Western Hockey League’s Kootenay Ice, leading all team defensemen with 39 points and 153 penalty minutes, while also being named runner-up for the WHL’s Humanitarian of the Year Award. In 2009-10, he made his college debut with the Golden Bears and was named to the CIS All-Tournament Team. In 2010-11, Barteaux finished second among Alberta defensemen with five goals and 14 points.
Faille, 25, will be making his pro debut with Fort Wayne after playing four seasons at the University of Moncton. He completed his collegiate career last season leading Moncton for the second straight year in assists (24) and points (39) and was named to the CIS Second All-Star Team for the second straight season. In 2009-10, the Lachine, Quebec native finished his fourth year of juniors at Acadie-Bathurst leading the Titans with 46 assists and 77 points prior to his college debut in 2010-11.
