Boise, ID – Idaho Steelheads defenseman Dustin Friesen has been loaned to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League, head coach and director of hockey operations Hardy Sauter announced Wednesday morning.
The 27 year old Friesen is in his second season with the Idaho Steelheads after being acquired in a trade from the Utah Grizzlies last January. It is the second time he has been loaned to the Sound Tigers since joining the Steelheads. He spent eight games with Bridgeport late last season, scoring a goal and adding an assist.
Friesen has two assists in 11 games so far this season with Idaho. He had 18 points in 30 regular-season games with the Steelheads last season before catching fire in the playoffs, tallying 13 points in 15 games from the blue line as Idaho reached the ECHL’s Kelly Cup finals.
