INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indy Fuel announced that the team has signed forward Robert Czarnik for the 2014-15 season.
The Fuel are the ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
A third-round selection (63rd overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Czarnik spent the past three seasons with the Kings’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs, before wrapping up the 2013-14 season with six games played for the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs.
During his time in the AHL, Czarnik posted 34 points (13g-21a) and 85 penalty minutes in 135 appearances. Prior to his professional career, Czarnik, was a better than point-per-game player in two seasons for the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League from 2009-11, notching 126 points (50g-76a) in 104 career OHL games.
Following two years with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program’s Under-18 team from 2006-08, Czarnik played two seasons of NCAA hockey for the University of Michigan, posting 22 points (8g-14a) in 51 career games.
