INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indy Fuel announced that defenseman Anders Franzon has agreed to terms with the club for the 2014-15 season.
The Fuel are the ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
In his first professional campaign in 2013-14, Franzon registered 31 points (10g-21a) in 66 games with the Central Hockey League’s Missouri Mavericks, who were coached by Fuel head coach Scott Hillman.
A four-year letter winner at the University of Vermont from 2009-13, Franzon, 25, is the first defenseman signed in Fuel team history. In 125 career collegiate appearances for Vermont, Franzon totaled 24 points (4g-20a) along with 67 penalty minutes.
