Fuel sign rookie Thorson


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indy Fuel announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Cory Thorson for the 2014-15 season.

The Fuel are the ECHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Thorson joins the Fuel after completing a four-year career at St. Cloud State. With the Huskies, he tallied 57 points (28g-29a) in 131 games played from 2010-14. In 2012-13, Thorson helped the Huskies clinch the school’s first-ever berth in the Frozen Four.

Prior to his collegiate career, Thorson was dominant in two seasons at the junior level with the NAHL’s Owatonna Express. In 116 career games from 2008-10, Thorson potted 102 points (52g-50a) along with 45 penalty minutes and a +11 rating.
