PRINCETON, N.J. – Former Greenville Grrrowl and current Milwaukee Admirals left wing Simon Gamache is the MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for November.
Gamache had a team-leading seven goals, five power-play goals, 11 assists and 18 points in 12 games in November as Milwaukee went 8-2-2. In 18 games in 2004-05, Gamache ranks eighth in the American Hockey League and leads Milwaukee with 24 points on a team-leading nine goals and 15 assists.
In his first professional season in 2001-02, the 5-9 and 185-pound Gamache helped Greenville capture the 2002 Kelly Cup Championship, sharing Kelly Cup Playoffs Most Valuable Player honors with teammate Tyrone Garner. Selected by Atlanta in the ninth round (290th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Gamache led the playoffs with 15 goals, six power-play goals and 24 points while his three game-winning goals tied him for the postseason lead. Gamache scored a point in the last 11 postseason games (11g-6a) and also had a seven-game goal-scoring streak in the playoffs. He scored 38 points (19g-19a) in 38 regular season games for the Grrrowl while also scoring six points (2g-4a) in 26 games with Chicago of the American Hockey League.
