Gladiators Acquire Teixeira From Charlotte
Desbiens Returns From Chicago To Gwinnett

DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that they have acquired rookie forward Brian Teixeira from the Charlotte Checkers in exchange for financial considerations.

The Gladiators also announced that All-Star rookie right wing Guillaume Desbiens has been reassigned from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League and the Wolves of the AHL.

The 25-year-old Teixeira has four points (1g-3a) and eight penalty minutes in 23 games with Charlotte.

Selected in the fourth round (116th overall) by Atlanta in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under contract to the Thrashers, the 20-year-old Desbiens has 44 points (22g-22a) and 132 penalty minutes in 44 games with Gwinnett and seven penalty minutes in three games with Chicago.
