PENSACOLA, Fla. – Six different players scored goals as the Gwinnett Gladiators beat the Pensacola Ice Pilots 6-3 in a preseason game at Pensacola Civic Center on Saturday.
Pensacola took a 1-0 lead on its first shot of the game as Aaron Lewicki scored, assisted by Dominic Noel and Nick Lindberg. Jared Ross tied the game 34 seconds later when he scored a goal, assisted by Matt York, but Dallas Steward gave the Ice Pilots a 2-1 lead with an unassisted goal at 2:08 of the first. Chris Durno tied the game with a goal, assisted by Steve Slaton and Scott Kelman, at 7:53 of the first and Gwinnett took a 3-2 lead on a power-play goal by Pascal Pelletier, assisted by Derek Nesbitt and Jared Ross, at 10:32 of the first. Brad Fraser scored at the end of the period to make it 4-2, assisted by Jason Deitsch and Ryan Fultz.
Lane Munson made it 5-2 with a shorthand goal, assisted by Derek Nesbitt, just 23 seconds into the second, but Noel made it 5-3 with a goal at 8:24 of the third, assisted by Matt Turek and Dallas Stewart.
