Gladiators’ Fields Named Reebok Hockey
ECHL Goaltender Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sean Fields of the Gwinnett Gladiators is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 26, 2005-Jan. 1, 2006.

The 24-year-old went 3-0-0 on the road with a 2.52 goals-against average and a .930 save percentage. He posted two wins against South Division leader Florida, helping the Gladiators go 5-0-0 on the week and move into a tie for first place with the Everblades at 40 points (18-4-6).

After beginning the week with a 3-2 win at Columbia on Dec. 26, the 6-foot and 195-pound Fields made 35 saves, including stopping all 11 shots in the third period, in a 5-4 overtime win at Florida on Dec. 30. The win ended Florida’s ECHL season-high and team record winning streak at 12 games. Fields returned between the pipes for Gwinnett on Dec. 31 and had 33 saves in a 5-2 win.

Fields is 14-4-3 with a shutout, a 2.91 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in 21 games for the Gladiators. He is tied for the league lead with two overtime wins and is tied for second in the league in wins.
