Gladiators sign Gongalsky

The Gwinnett Gladiators have signed forward Igor Gongalsky.

 

Gongalsky began the season with the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League where he earned one assist in 13 games. The Gladiators acquired his ECHL rights from the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for future considerations on Oct. 13, 2011.

 

Gongalsky spent a majority of the 2010-11 season with the Pirates where he earned 10 points (4g-6a) in 54 games in the AHL. He also had three points (2g-1a) in seven games with Greenville last year.

 

The Kiev, Ukraine native began his professional career with Fresno in 2007-08 and earned 43 points (18g-25a) in 63 games and had 30 points (10g-20a) in 28 games in 2008-09 with Fresno and Stockton. He also saw action in four AHL games with San Antonio in 2008-09.

 

Gongalsky had 31 points (14g-17a) in 55 games with Stockton in the 2009-10 season.
