Gornick Signs With AHL’s Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed center Brian Gornick, who played each of the past two seasons with the San Diego Gulls.

The 25-year-old Gornick had 46 points (23g-23a) and 60 penalty minutes in 67 games with San Diego in 2004-05 and two penalty minutes in one game with Syracuse.

Selected in the ninth round (258th overall) by Anaheim in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-5 and 210-pound had 24 points (9g-15a) in 18 regular season games and one assist in three Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Gulls in 2003-04 and two points (1g-1a) in 24 games with Cincinnati of the AHL.

In three professional seasons, Gornick has eight points (3g-5a) and 28 penalty minutes in 79 regular season AHL games and 70 points (32g-38a) and 70 penalty minutes in 85 regular season ECHL games.
