Grand Rapids Assigns MacDonald To Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Storm announced that they have been assigned AHL All-Star goaltender Joey MacDonald by the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

The Storm is the ECHL affiliate for the Griffins and the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League and the Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

MacDonald is on a rehabilitation assignment. He has played in a game this season after having back surgery in the offseason, but did practice the last two weeks with Grand Rapids.

In his rookie season in 2001-02, MacDonald was 12-15-7 with a goals-against average of 2.88 and a save percentage of .922 in 38 games with the Storm.
