Grizzlies bring back Brenden Walker

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has signed forward Brenden Walker for the 2015-16 season.

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League’s San Diego Gulls.

Walker was acquired by the Grizzlies just prior to the ECHL’s trade deadline on March 9 last season and had 15 points (9g-6a) in 13 games with Utah. He added seven points (3g-4a) in seven playoff games before sustaining a series-ending injury on May 2. He was an ECHL All-Star in 2014-15 and totaled 57 points (24g-33a) in 67 games with Utah and Gwinnett.

Walker had one of Utah’s two hat tricks last season, scoring three times in his Grizzlies’ debut March 13 at Bakersfield and set a Utah season-high for points in a game with five in that contest as well. He was second on the Grizzlies in scoring after being acquired in March and led the team with nine goals. The 23-year-old enters his third pro season in October.
