Grizzlies Sign Forbes, Rycroft, Starling

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies announced that they have signed defensemen Chad Starling and Ian Forbes and right wing Travis Rycroft, who all three played in Peoria, coached by Grizzlies coach Jason Christie, last season.

Selected in the second round (51st overall) by Philadelphia in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old Forbes had nine points (2g-7a) and 189 penalty minutes in 62 games with San Diego in 2004-05 before being traded to Peoria where he had 43 penalty minutes in eight games.

Selected in the fourth round (114th overall) by St. Louis in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old Starling had 13 points (1g-12a) and 79 penalty minutes in 49 games with Peoria in 2004-05.

In his first professional season in 2004-05, the 25-year-old Rycroft had seven points (1g-6a) and 36 penalty minutes in 38 games with Peoria.
