GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl announced that right wing Krys Barch (pictured) and center Dan Baum have been assigned to the team by the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League.
In two games with Iowa, the 25-year-old Barch has nine penalty minutes.
Selected in the fourth round (106th overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-2 and 200-pound Barch had 30 points (11g-19a) and 154 penalty minutes in 55 regular season games and 36 penalty minutes in three Kelly Cup Playoff games for Greenville and one goal and 37 penalty minutes in nine games with Norfolk of the AHL in 2004-05.
Selected in the seventh round (215th overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Baum had seven points (3g-4a) and 206 penalty minutes in 48 games with Edmonton of the AHL in 2004-05. In his rookie season in 2003-04, the 6-foot-1 and 194-pound Baum had 10 points (4g-6a) and 154 penalty minutes in 37 regular season games and one assist in three playoff games with Toronto of the AHL and seven penalty minutes in three games with Columbus of the ECHL.
