PRINCETON, N.J. – Greenville rookie goaltender Jeff Deslauriers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for February 21-27. Deslauriers was runner-up for the award each of his first two weeks in the league (Feb. 7-13 and Feb. 14-20).
Deslauriers went 3-0-1 and helped Greenville go 4-0-1 to capture nine of a possible 10 points against East Division rivals. Deslauriers, who was recalled to Edmonton of the American Hockey League on Monday, posted a 1.68 goals-against average, a .964 save percentage and recorded his first professional shutout.
The 6-4 and 192-pound goaltender made 29 saves and stopped five of six shooters in the shootout for a 4-3 win against South Carolina on February 21. After stopping 40 shots in a 3-0 win against first-place Charlotte on Friday, the 20-year-old had 30 saves in a 3-2 win against Pee Dee on Saturday. Starting his third game in three days, Deslauriers made 41 saves in a 3-2 shootout loss at Augusta on Sunday.
