Gwinnett Receives Desbiens From Wolves

DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that right wing Guillaume Desbiens has been assigned to the team by the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Wolves of the AHL and the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the fourth round (116th overall) by the Thrashers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and in his first professional season, the 20-year-old played one game with the Wolves.

In four seasons with Rouyn-Noranda in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2001-05, the 6-foot-2 and 213-pound Desbiens had 141 points (76g-55a) and 753 penalty minutes in 243 regular season games and 11 points (4g-7a) and 62 penalty minutes in 29 playoff games.
