Gwinnett Signs Defensemen Sitko, Youngclaus

DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that they have signed defensemen Jon Sitko (pictured) and Phil Youngclaus.

The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. Chicago is coached by Don Granato, who led Peoria to a 45-20-5 record and the Kelly Cup championship in 1999-2000 after two seasons as head coach and general manager for Columbus.

The third year defenseman Sitko had two assists and 35 penalty minutes in 36 regular season games with the Gladiators in 2007-08.

The 25-year-old Youngclaus had 14 points (1g-13a) and 66 penalty minutes in 70 regular season games for the Pensacola Ice Pilots in 2007-08.
