Hartford Assigns Bahensky, Constant To Checkers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League have assigned rookie defenseman Ryan Constant and rookie left wing Zdenek Bahensky to Charlotte.

The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the Wolf Pack of the AHL and the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the third round (73rd overall) by the Rangers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft and under AHL contract to Hartford, the 20-year-old Bahensky has 20 points (8g-12a) and 79 penalty minutes in 42 games with Charlotte and one assist and two penalty minutes in 10 games with Hartford.

Also under contract to Hartford, the 21-year-old Constant has 18 points (2g-16a) and 58 penalty minutes in 49 games with Charlotte and has played in four games for Hartford.
