The 21-year-old went 3-0-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .925 last week, helping the Bulls extend their winning streak to four games.
Heemskerk made 16 saves in a 4-2 win at Bakersfield on Tuesday, stopped 28 shots in a 6-1 victory against Ontario on Friday and closed the week with 34 saves in a 6-3 win over Stockton on Saturday.
A native of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Heemskerk is 7-7-0 this season with a 3.44 goals-against average and a save percentage of .899. He has gone 5-1-0 in his last six starts, and leads the ECHL with 908 minutes played and 462 saves.
Heemskerk, who is under contract to the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, has appeared in 41 career ECHL games with San Francisco and Stockton, posting an overall record of 20-19-1 with a 3.33 goals-against average and a save percentage of .895. He also has seen action in four American Hockey League games with Worcester, where he is 0-1-0 with a 2.14 goals-against average and a save percentage of .921.
Prior to turning pro, Heemskerk played four seasons with Kootenay, Everett and Moose Jaw of the Western Hockey League posting an overall record of 91-58-19 with nine shutouts, a 2.81 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.
