PRINCETON, N.J. – Trenton rookie Chris Houle is the ITECH HOCKEY ECHL Saver of the Week for November 10-16.
The 6-3 and 197-pound Houle was 3-0-0 with a shutout, a 0.67 goals against average and a .973 save percentage as the Titans went 3-0-1 to improve to 8-5-1 and moved into a tie for third in the Northern Division with Wheeling and Reading.
Making his first professional start on Wednesday, the 21-year-old Houle made 19 saves in a 3-1 win over Toledo. Houle started against Toledo again on Saturday and made 34 saves, including 14 in the third period, in a 2-0 win for his first professional shutout. He closed out the week making 19 saves in a 2-1 win over Las Vegas which entered the game atop the ECHL with 21 points.
Houle earned Second-Team All-Rookie honors in the Ontario Hockey League in 2002-03 after going 22-14-3 with two shutouts, a 2.58 goals against average and a .917 save percentage while helping the London Knights advance to the OHL Western Conference Semifinals.
