Houston Assigns Kotyk To Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Lynx announced that they have been assigned goaltender Seamus Kotyk from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the fifth round (147th overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old was 10-6-1 with a goals-against average of 2.95 in 23 games with Milwaukee of the AHL in 2004-05. On April 17, he became the eighth goalie in AHL history to score a goal when he accomplished the feat against San Antonio.

The 5-foot-11 and 187-pound Kotyk, who played three seasons with Cleveland of the AHL, won the Gretzky Trophy as the Ontario Hockey League’s postseason Most Valuable Player in 2001 as the Ottawa 67’s advanced to the Memorial Cup.
