Houston Hires Green

HOUSTON – The Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League announced that they have hired former ECHL athletic trainer Jody Green.

The general manager of Houston is Jim Mill, who was the assistant director of hockey operations for the ECHL in 1997-98 and was also a goaltender in the ECHL, playing with Raleigh, Huntington, Roanoke and Tallahassee from 1992-96, and an assistant coach for Tallahassee in 1996-97.

The Aeros broadcaster is Joe O’Donnell, who was the voice of the Idaho Steelheads from 2005-08 as well as the play-by-play broadcaster for the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game and the 2007 ECHL Broadcaster of the Year for the National Conference.

Green, who worked as an intern and assistant athletic trainer for Mississippi, was awarded his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society and the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers.
