Houston Recalls Kotyk From Augusta

HOUSTON – The Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League announced that the have recalled goaltender Seamus Kotyk from the Augusta Lynx.

Kotyk skated with the Aeros on Wednesday and will accompany the team on its trip to Milwaukee, Grand Rapids and Peoria.

Assigned to Augusta on October 19, the 25-year-old was named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week on Tuesday after going 2-0-0 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 0.59 and a save percentage of .983 on opening weekend.

Selected in the fifth round (147th overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old was 10-6-1 with a goals-against average of 2.95 in 23 games with Milwaukee of the AHL in 2004-05. On April 17, he became the eighth goalie in AHL history to score a goal when he accomplished the feat against San Antonio.
