Huard, Minella return to Cyclones


CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced that forwards Nick Huard and Christiaan Minella have re-signed and will skate with the team for the 2015-16 season.

Signed by the Cylones on March 19 after a three-year career at the University of Guelph, Huard had an immediate impact on his new team recording six points (3g-3a) in 13 games. A native of North Bay, Ontario, Huard tallied 91 points (40g-51a) in 79 career games at Guelph, and was named to the OUA West Second All-Star Team in both 2013-14 and 2014-15. Prior to attending Guelph, he spent two seasons in the QMJHL with Victoriaville and Lewiston.

Minella returns to Cincinnati for the second straight season, and for his third season overall. The Cincinnati native scored 19 points (9g-10a) in 64 games last season, and ranked second on the team with 89 penalty minutes. Minella is preparing for his sixth professional season, having spent time with the Wheeling Nailers in addition to the Cyclones. In 235 career games, he has tallied 94 points (49g-45a).
