Ice Dogs’ Sanford Recalled To Hamilton

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced that defenseman James Sanford has been recalled by the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

The Ice Dogs are the ECHL affiliate of the Bulldogs of the AHL and the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League.

The 5-foot-9 and 195-pound Sanford has four assists and 12 penalty minutes in eight games with Long Beach.

In his first professional season in 2004-05, the 21-year-old Sanford had 11 points (2g-9a) in 24 games with Peoria of the ECHL and 10 points (2g-8a) in 31 games with Hamilton. He was selected to the ECHL All-Star Game, but was unable to play as he was on call up to Hamilton.
