Ice Pilots Acquire Hill, Wirll From Utah

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that they have acquired veteran defenseman Ed Hill and forward Mike Wirll from the Utah Grizzlies in exchange for right wing Tyler Liebel, forward Brendan Cook and rookie defenseman Chris Trick.

The Ice Pilots are the ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the second round (61st overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, the 26-year-old Hill has two assists and 36 penalty minutes in 13 games for Utah.

The 24-year-old Wirll was tied for the Grizzlies team lead with 10 points and was second on the team with six goals and three power-play goals in 13 games.
