Inferno Signs Bonk, Aikins

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Columbia Inferno announced that they have signed center Dave Bonk and rookie forward Justin Aikins.

Columbia is the ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League and the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.

In his first professional season in 2004-05, the 5-foot-10 and 170-pound Bonk scored 41 points (15g-26a) in 66 games with Motor City of the United Hockey League.

Selected in the sixth round (173rd overall) by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot and 180-pound Aikins, who will be attending training camp with Hershey Bears of the AHL, scored 103 points (27g-76a) in 153 games at the University of New Hampshire.
