COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Columbia Inferno have announced that they will host a benefit preseason game to help support the victims of the gulf coast region due to the damage caused by Hurricane Katrina.
The game is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18 at 7:05 p.m. against the Augusta Lynx and will be played at the Carolina Coliseum.
The game will be sponsored by Bob & Sandy Marshall of Lexington, the Cycle Center and Columbia Appliance & Service and admission is free to the general public as donations will be taken at the door and given to the Red Cross for disaster relief efforts.
Centerplate will donate all concession proceeds from the game and the University of South Carolina has made parking for the game free. The ECHL has also agreed to provide cost of on-ice officials.
