Kochan Named AHL Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The American Hockey League announced that Bridgeport goaltender Dieter Kochan has been named the CCM Vector/AHL Player of the Week. Kochan, who began his professional career in the ECHL with Louisville, stopped 102 of 105 shots while winning each of his three starts last week.

Kochan, who was 7-9-2 with a 3.73 goals against average and a .891 save percentage in 18 games for Louisville in 1997-98, earned his first shutout of the season with 45 saves in a 3-0 win against division leader Binghamton on Thursday and finished the week 3-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .971.
