Kozak Reassigned From Charlotte To Hartford

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Checkers announced that the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League have reassigned forward Rick Kozak to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

The Checkers are the ECHL affiliate of the Rangers of the National Hockey League and the Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League.

Selected in the third round (95th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and under NHL contract to the Rangers, the 21-year-old has five points (3g-2a) and 41 penalty minutes in 11 games for the Checkers.

In his first professional season in 2005-06, the 6-foot-3 and 225-pound Kozak had 16 points (7g-9a) and 68 penalty minutes in 28 regular season games and six penalty minutes in three Kelly Cup Playoff games for Charlotte while also playing in the AHL where he had four penalty minutes in three games for Hartford.
