Las Vegas’ Bonni, McKenna Called Up To Omaha

LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Wranglers announced that goaltender Mike McKenna and defenseman Ryan Bonni have been called up to the American Hockey League by the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights.

The Wranglers are the ECHL affiliate of the Knights of the AHL and the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the sixth round (172nd overall) by the Nashville Predators in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and the starting goaltender for the National Conference in the ECHL All-Star Game, McKenna is 14-3-6 with three shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.32 and a save percentage of .928 in 23 games for Las Vegas and has appeared in one game for Omaha.

Selected in the second round (34th overall) by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-4 and 220-pound Bonni has 27 points in 31 games with Las Vegas and ranks fourth among ECHL defensemen with 25 assists while he has six penalty minutes in six games with Omaha.
