Calgary Assigns Rookie Watt To Wranglers

LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Wranglers® announced that they have agreed to terms with goaltender Martin Houle and that the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League have assigned rookie forward J.D. Watt from Quad City of the American Hockey League to Las Vegas.

The Wranglers are the ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League and the Quad City Flames of the American Hockey League. Former Dayton Bombers coach Jim Playfair is associate coach for Calgary while former ECHL player Jamie McLennan is the director of goaltender development for the Flames.

Selected in the fourth round (111th overall) by Calgary in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, the 21-year-old Watt, who attended training camp with Calgary and Quad City, has 28 penalty minutes in five games with Quad City.
