AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Lynx announced that head coach Bob Ferguson will miss the team’s games against Columbia on Friday and Mississippi on Saturday following the death of his father, Lorne Ferguson.
Lorne Ferguson passed away on Friday in Kingston, Ontario at the age of 77 years old.
“The Augusta Lynx send our deepest regrets, sympathy and prayers to the entire Ferguson family during this difficult time,” said Lynx general manager Dan Troutman. “Bob was very close with his father and we were happy that he was able to be with him during his final moments.”
Lorne Ferguson played eight seasons in the National Hockey League and had 162 points (82g-80a) in 422 regular season games and nine points (6g-3a) in 31 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings.
