Lynx Receive Riddle, Stepp From Portland
Johnson Recalled To Iowa

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Lynx announced that left wing Jake Riddle has been reassigned to the team by the Portland Pirates of the AHL and that center Joel Stepp have been assigned to the team by the National Hockey League’s Mighty Ducks of Anaheim from Portland while center Jamie Johnson has been recalled by the Iowa Stars of the AHL.

Selected in the third round (69th overall) by Anaheim in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Stepp has two points (1g-1a) and a plus-minus rating of +1 in seven games with Portland. In 2004-05, the 6-foot and 210-pound Stepp had seven goals and 10 penalty minutes in 12 games with San Diego of the ECHL and 12 points (3g-9a) and 23 penalty minutes in 63 regular season games and one goal and eight penalty minutes in 12 playoff games with Cincinnati of the AHL.

Selected in the eighth round (239th overall) by the Minnesota Wild in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Riddle had three points (1g-2a) and six penalty minutes in five games with Augusta before being called up to Portland where he played in three games. In his rookie season in 2004-05, the 6-foot-1 and 212-pound Riddle had 26 points (12g-14a) and 110 penalty minutes in 44 games with Peoria and 18 penalty minutes in 12 games with Wheeling.

The 23-year-old Johnson, who attended training camp with Dallas of the NHL and Iowa, has six points (2g-4a) and six penalty minutes in seven games with Augusta and currently has a four-game scoring streak (2g-3a). Johnson finished second behind former NHL Rookie of the Year Scott Gomez in the ECHL scoring race while leading Augusta with 80 points (22g-58a) in his second professional season in 2004-05.
