Maple Leafs Re-Sign Battaglia
Forward Played For Mississippi During Lockout

TORONTO, Ontario – The Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League announced that they have re-signed forward Bates Battaglia, who played for the Mississippi Sea Wolves during the NHL lockout in 2004-05.

The Columbia Inferno are the ECHL affiliate of the Maple Leafs of the NHL and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Playing alongside his brother, Anthony Battaglia, Bates Battaglia had 17 points (6g-11a) and 24 penalty minutes in 25 regular season games and 10 penalty minutes in four games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for Mississippi.

One of six players to appear in all 82 games for Toronto in 2006-07, the 31 year old had 31 points (12g-19a) and 45 penalty minutes while ranking second on the team and leading all forwards with a plus-minus rating of +9.

He has played in 567 NHL games with Carolina, Colorado, Washington and Toronto collecting 198 points (80g-118a) and 378 penalty minutes.
