BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League announced that they have signed former ECHL All-Star left wing David Masse. Former Charlotte assistant coach David Baseggio is the head coach of the Sound Tigers and former Wheeling coach Pat Bingham is an assistant coach.
The 22-year-old Masse had 19 points (8g-11a) and 31 penalty minutes in 25 regular season games and two points (1g-1a) and 12 penalty minutes in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games for Reading in 2004-05 while also playing in the AHL with Hershey where he had 20 points (12g-8a) and 23 penalty minutes in 46 games.
In his rookie season in 2003-04, the 6-1 and 191-pound Masse had 47 points (14g-33a) and 128 penalty minutes in 53 regular season games and tied for the team lead with 14 points (6g-8a) in 14 Kelly Cup Playoff games while helping the Royals reach the conference finals. He also played for Hershey in 2003-04 registering nine points (4g-5a) and eight penalty minutes in 19 games.
