McLean Returns To Nailers From Wilkes-Barre/Scranton
Wheeling Signs Rookie Rice

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that rookie center Kurtis McLean has been returned from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

The Nailers also announced that they have signed rookie forward Mike Rice, who recently completed his season at the University of Western Ontario.

The 25-year-old McLean was voted as a starter for the ECHL All-Star Game but did not play after being called up on Jan. 11 to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He is tied for fourth among ECHL rookies with 25 goals and is 16th among rookies with 46 points in 36 games.

In three college seasons, the 24-year-old Rice had 96 points (42g-54a) and 110 penalty minutes in 64 career games.
