Michalek, who was the ECHL Rookie of the Month for October, made 26 saves in a 4-2 win against Alaska on Friday and stopped 40 shots in a 2-1 victory over Indy on Sunday.
A sixth-round selection (161st overall) of the Minnesota Wild in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Michaelk has appeared in 10 games for the Mallards posting a record of 4-3-3 with a 2.37 goals-against average and a save percentage of .923.
Prior to turning pro, Michalek appeared in 79 career games at Harvard University posting a record of 33-28-13 with five shutouts, a 2.59 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914. He also appeared in 17 games with Cedar Rapids of the United States Hockey League where he was 7-6-3 with a 3.09 goals-against average and a save percentage of .900.
