Chris Minard of the Alaska Aces has been recalled to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to play for Albany on Friday when the River Rats host Syracuse.
Minard has scored in each of his last 12 games (16g-9a) and is tied for the league lead with 25 goals and five game-winning goals while he is tied for fourth in scoring with 38 points.
“It’s kind of what was going through my head,” Minard said in a telephone interview from Albany. “I had been having some success, I wanted the chance and I’m glad it happened.
“I’m putting some more pressure on myself because I feel I can play at this level and want to play at this level,” Minard said. “I don’t want to go back (to the ECHL).”
