Missiaen named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week


Jason Missiaen of the Greenville Road Warriors is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 15-21. It is the fourth time in his career that he has won the weekly honor.


Missiaen went 4-0-0 with two shutouts, a 0.99 goals-against average and a save percentage of .965 last week as the Road Warriors extended their unbeaten streak to nine games (8-0-1).


The 24-year-old made 32 saves in a 2-1 overtime win at Toledo on Tuesday, stopped all 22 shots in a 3-0 victory at Cincinnati on Wednesday, turned aside all 21 shots he faced in a 1-0 win at Wheeling on Friday and ended the week with 34 saves in a 5-3 victory over the Nailers on Saturday.


Under contract to the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League, Missiaen is 5-0-1 in his last six starts, and overall this season in 12 appearances has posted a record of 7-4-1 with two shutouts, a 2.64 goals-against average and a save percentage of .916.


Missiaen has appeared in 78 career games with Greenville with an overall record of 47-24-5 with three shutouts, a 2.72 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917. He also has 43 games of American Hockey League experience with Hartford.
