Morrison Named Victoria Assistant Coach

VICTORIA, British Columbia – The Victoria Salmon Kings announced that they have hired Mark Morrison as assistant coach.

The 42-year-old Morrison, who retired from professional hockey following the 2004-05 season, returns to Victoria where he played for the Victoria Cougars in the Western Hockey League from 1979-83 scoring 394 points (159g-235a) in 249 regular season games and 54 points (19g-35a) in 47 playoff games.

He played the last 12 seasons for Fife in the British National League where he had 837 points (393g-444a) and 524 penalty minutes in 427 regular season games and 14 points (7g-7a) in 19 playoff games.

Selected in the third round (51st overall) by the New York Rangers in the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, Morrison had two points (1g-1a) in 10 games with the Rangers.
