Nailers’ Fata, Verbeek Called Up

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that defenseman Drew Fata and right wing Tim Verbeek (pictured) have been called up to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

Selected in the third round (86th overall) by Pittsburgh in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Fata has two points (1g-1a) and 14 penalty minutes in four games with the Nailers.

The 26-year-old Verbeek has three points (2g-1a) and seven penalty minutes in four games with the Nailers.
