Nailers Receive Verbeek

WHEELING, W. Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that right wing Tim Verbeek has been assigned to the team by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League.

Wheeling is the ECHL affiliate of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

The 26-year-old had 14 points (9g-4a) and 37 penalty minutes in 21 regular season games and one goal and four penalty minutes in four Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Idaho Steelheads in 2004-05.

In five ECHL seasons with Idaho, Roanoke and Toledo, the 6-foot and 195-pound Verbeek has 141 points (66g-75a) and 604 penalty minutes in 226 regular season games and 11 points 96g-5a) and 29 penalty minutes in 23 Kelly Cup Playoff games.
