Nailers Sign Downey, Scally,

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that they have signed right wing Bill Downey and goaltender Mark Scally.

In his first full professional season in 2004-05, the 24-year-old played five games with Wheeling and two games with Johnstown. He also played in the United Hockey League where he had four points (2g-2a) in 15 games with Richmond and the Southern Professional Hockey League where he had one assist in four games with Asheville.

The 28-year-old Scally, who played with the Nailers in 2000-01 and 2003-04, played in the SPHL with Asheville and in the ECHL with Johnstown in 2004-05.
