WHEELING, W. Va. – The Wheeling Nailers have re-signed Jason Jaffray and T.J. Reynolds and have signed defenseman James Laux.
The 23-year-old Jaffray was named as a starter in the ECHL All-Star Game in each of his first two seasons and was named to the All-ECHL First Team and All-Rookie Team while also being named ECHL Rookie of the Year in 2002-03. He was named to the All-ECHL Second Team in 2003-04 after leading Wheeling with 37 goals, 74 points, 13 power-play goals, 28 power-play points and six game-winning goals.
In his first professional season in 2002-03, the 6-2 and 212-pound Reynolds set a team record with 371 penalty minutes in 71 regular season games. In 2003-04 with Wheeling, Reynolds ranked third on the team with a plus-minus rating of +27 while ranking third among Nailers defensemen with 20 points.
In 2003-04, the 6-2 and 210-pound Laux had one assist in seven regular season games with Trenton and scored seven points (4g-3a) in 23 regular season games with Philadelphia in the American Hockey League.
