On Friday, Dec. 10 during the Wheeling Nailers home game at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pa., the Johnstown Hockey Community will come together to honor one of its own as Dmitri Tarabrin’s jersey will be risen to the rafters of the War Memorial celebrating a great career by one of the most recognizable faces in Johnstown Chiefs’ history.
Tarabrin began his professional career with the Wheeling Nailers in 1997 and was traded to the Johnstown Chiefs in 1999. He has made his home in Johnstown ever since. Tarabrin holds the Chiefs’ record 480 games played, ranks second with 232 points, third with 99 goals and is fourth with assists. He is 10th in ECHL history with 581 games played.
