VICTORIA, British Columbia – Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Association of British Columbia announced that it has hired former Victoria Salmon Kings communications and community relations manager Adam Olsen as communications coordinator.
Before the Salmon Kings, the 30-year-old interned as an editorial assistant for SportsCentre at The Sports Network in Toronto, Ontario after joining the applied communication program at Camosun College in Victoria. Olsen, who was born and raised on Tsartlip First Nations in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, also has 10 years experience in front lines communications in the hospitality industry.
“I am excited to take on this new challenge of helping to raise the profile of Aboriginal Sports,” said Olsen. “I am thrilled to begin work with the teams that British Columbia will send to the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, the North American Indigenous Games and the 2008 North American Indigenous Games.”
Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Association of BC is a multi-sport umbrella organization providing leadership, guidance and support to the Aboriginal people of British Columbia through opportunities in sport, physical activities and recreation.
